The main clinical purpose of the nutritional consultation is the screening of patients with a high risk of undernutrition or being malnourished and discussing the appropriate care to be given.
Dr Marc Irigoin-Guichandut in consultation
Cancer and/or treatments can disrupt the patient’s nutritional status so an assessment and regular monitoring are necessary. At the “Centre de Cancérologie de la Porte de Saint-Cloud”, the chemotherapy nursing staff are especially trained in nutritional care.
A nutrition doctor, Dr Marc Irigoin-Guichandut, can establish a dietary diagnosis, propose suitable menus and give advice on the best diet to have at home. He can be seen in consultations before, during and after hospitalisation and works in close collaboration with the patient’s nursing team and their family.
Nutrition expertise is coordinated by the food and nutrition liaison committee (comité de liaison alimentation et nutrition – CLAN). This institution ensures the standard of nutritional care and quality of all food and catering services within the establishment.
